Forgot to mention that total is now 106 as I went to a class by the lovely Stamping Caz at the Glitter Pot.

Her style is quite different to mine so its always fun to go along and have a chat and a play..

First Challenge

Hello everyone,

Well the time had to come where I had to embrace the blogging craft world of challenges, but being the chicken I am I thought I would start off by setting myself a challenge first before I ventured into the outside world so to speak. LOL
So where to start ....

I had a look through my stash and came across a sheet of Penny Black stickeroos, which are not really my thing (whats the point of taking out all the fun bit of stamping and colouring in!!!). So with stickers in hand I set off to use all the stickers up in one go.

Big Birthdays

Well this post is hopefully my final catchup of the day. My parents finally went home today so I have spent the whole evening doing all the things I had not manage to do over the last few days, namely finishing off the two birthday cards I needed for my lovely work colleague Michele.

One is for the staff to sign and one is from me.

This one (92:365) was for everyone to sign. So I left plenty of room inside to sign.

Recipe:
Stamps: Alota stamps - Happy Birthday, Hero Arts - Special Birthday, Penny Black - Scrolling along Papers: Magenta - Dancing Butterflies, Bazzill Bling - In the pink & Petty Cash, Craftwork Cards 8x8 white card stock. Other: Chipboard templates, Nestabilities, MS Punch, Cuttlebug - Butterflies (cut & emboss) and Birds & Swirls.
The next card was designed as I hated having all my birthday cards with numbers on the front so I stuck one inside...! LOL.

Of course it had to be a Gorjuss girl for a gorgeous girl! I really enjoyed making this card as all the colours are so spring fresh and I carried the colours from the paper all the way through.

The fun of this card is only revealed once you pull the ribbon to the right and everything slides out on either side and all the words are revealed. Don't you just love it...
I will definitely use this template again.

Recipe:
Stamps: Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girls - Sitting & a little birdie told me. Inkadinkado Birds Galore, words & numbers - Fourth Dimension.
Papers:Bazzill Bling - Bankroll, Basics - Lakeshore & Java, Bobunny Abbey Road- Sky
Other: Memento Ink - Rich Cocoa, Coloursoft Pencils, Sansador,Stickles - Diamond, Green Ribbon, Nestabilities - Hexagonal, Pearl - stash, Punches - Woodware.
Night all

Easter fun and family

Well its a while since my last post, but to be honest in my defence I have been a busy little (Easter) bunny. For the last week I have had my parents to stay, which is always lovely as they live over 250 miles away and I don't get to see them too often.

I took my Mum out on the Good Friday to do a couple of classes at the Glitter Pot as part of her Mothers day present. The class was one run by Gaynor White who uses decoupage to fantastic effect. I have to say that this is not a technique I have used before and I primarily booked the class as a treat for my Mum, but the cards were such fun to make and the way she manages to transform a simple stamp into something so dimensional using just stamping and layering with patterned papers is definitely a technique I would use again.

Card 88 of 365 (well it looks like I will have count every card to make my target! LOL)

Recipe: Stamps: Magenta Cling Set - Garden Flower Tile Papers: Core'dinations - Dandelion, Bazzill Embossed Card - Vintage Vines - Ruby Slipper, Doodlebug - Snowdrift, Pebbles Inc Double Sided Paper - Basics Spring Green Flower/Dot Embellishments: Ladybird (Gaynors stash), Distress Stickles - Peeled Paint & Stickles - Stardust Other items: Friskars border punch, Glossy accents

We popped off to the local pub for a hearty lunch of Scampi and chips (well you can't diet on a Bank Holiday. It's the rules isn't it?). Then back for a little retail therapy in the shop and onto part two of the day.

This time Gaynor used a new Woodware stamp, which I would never have thought to use in this manner, but as you can see it is fabulous.

Card 89:365

Recipe: Stamps: Woodware - Mary & Friends, Penny Black - Clique, Hero - Bold Flourish Papers: Doodlebug, Pebbles & Bazzill Basics. Other: Ink Memento - Sky Blue, Stickles - Stardust
All available from The Glitterpot

Easter Sunday was spend crafting again as the boys had all gone off to watch the Rugby so Mum and I did some stamp swapping and I made a few cards as below.

Card 90:365 (& 91:365 as I made two from the same recipe, but assembled it differently)

This one was for my Dad's birthday which was on the 16th. He has just retired and for Xmas my Mum bought him an electric guitar (is she mad!), So I thought these stamps were pretty appropriate and beats the usual rugby and cricket fall backs I usually make!

I had great fun with this as the papers just seem to lend themselves to this design and I know I will definitely use these stamps again for male cards.

Recipe:
Stamps: Inkadinkado - Rock Star

Papers: Basic Grey - Archaic, Cream card - Craft work cards, bazzill - Java Other: Cuttlebug embossing folders - D'vine swirls & Diamonds in the rough, Craftwork Cards Card Candy - Chocolate Drops

Toodle pips for now

Lucky day

Well two posts in two days I suppose thats not too bad considering it took me three months to get started!

I was going to post last night but got too wrapped up in the Gorjuss 2 release party. The thread was running so fast it was really hard to keep up, but got there in the end. The new set is gorjuss (please excuse the pun). The FK site kept crashing due to the volume of traffic so will go back on after posting this and pre-order the stamps, which are available until the 11th April.

Anyway back to my real reason for posting. I had the most delightful phone call yesterday telling me I had won the raffle from the Crafts U Love Demo Day last weekend. So as it was such a sunny day I slipped the roof down on the car and the OH & I sped down the see the lovely ladies in the shop and pick up my lovely prize. Of course a few other goodies were smuggled into a basket for purchase whilst the OH wasnt looking!!

So my prize consisted of a load of lovely bits and pieces and a blank recipe box for altering. I have to admit I have really only ever made cards and have only ever dabbled with one scrapbook to date so the ideas are not really flowing yet, albeit I think the final version may well end up as storage for my cuttlebug folders. Watch this space girls I will post the final version.

So tonight I will set up my slide show of past cards and post a couple of the recent 87 cards made
to this year. Note: Still 87 as been to busy spending to actually add to the totall yet!

Opening post

Well spring has sprung so to speak and the clocks have gone forward and here is my first post on my first ever blog. (How exciting!!) LOL

I originally set my blog link up last August, but for one reason or another I have dilly dallied around and have only now set the wheels in motion. So here goes....

On Jan 1st I made a New Years resolution to not buy a single card and to make the equivalent of one card per day.
The intention was to also photograph these cards and include them on my blog, but as I am some 4 months behind with the photography I will be putting together a slide show of the edited highlights and including that over the next few days.

I am happy to say that so far I am pretty much on track as I have made 87 of my 365 cards for this year. This is mainly due to making a large number of Valentines and birthday cards being commissioned for work collegues and friends.

So when ever I post I will include an update of the number of cards I have made to make sure I at least make one of my resolutions happen.

Thanks for reading
